Finding files and folders with 1st TurboRun

1st TurboRun lets you find and launch any application, document or favorite bookmark very fast, by entering a small part of their name. 1st TurboRun locates them in the important locations like Start Menu, Desktop, My Documents etc. You can Customize the list of folders to search.

How to locate an application, document or bookmark?

Start typing a desired name into the Search Input Box labeled "What do you want to find?". 1st TurboRun narrows the search results list (in the Search Results Box) as you type, including only items, whose name contains entered characters. After entering just a few characters, the desired file or folder should appear in the top rows of the search results box.

How to navigate search results?

The current selection is automatically scrolled to the first matching item each time you enter a new character. If you wish to select another element, you may use cursor keys without leaving the Search Input Box! See Keyboard Shortcuts for the list of all shortcuts available in the input box. Of course, you can use the mouse to select any item in the list.

What can you do with the items found?

Once you have found the desired item, you can open it by:

- double-clicking an item;

- pressing the Enter key;

- pressing the "Open" button on a Toolbar.

To perform additional actions, you can right click the desired item to access Search Results Box Context Menu or you can use File Menu.

Search issues

You may enter several names into the input box separating them with spaces. Search results will include only items containing all of these names.

Search is case insensitive.

Parent folders of matching items are included into the search results. However only matching items are marked with bold.
